BILLY TORRENCE STARTS 8TH AT HOMETOWN RACE

September 21, 2013 -- Billy Torrence made certain Saturday he would be starting another Top Fuel race by registering a qualifying time of 3.853 seconds at 316.52 mph at the Texas Motorplex.

His elapsed time put him in the eighth starting berth for the Kilgore-based team that calls the Motorplex its home track.

This is his third consecutive start in the Torrence Racing/Capco Contractors Inc. dragster since making his Top Fuel debut at the US. Nationals Labor Day weekend.

“It is always a special event for us when we get to race before all of the people who support us,” he commented.  “I was pleased with the way we ran.  Now we will prepare to run a good race and try to get a win for all of them.
